Summer Hiking in Half Moon Bay

There's no such thing as 'June Gloom' in sunny Half Moon Bay! Gorgeous weather, plus time off means our summer bucket list is full of local hiking trails. There is so much to explore along the beautiful coast, whether it's a ridge line next overlooking the Farallon Islands or walking amongst Giant Redwoods, thousands of years old.

Grab your hiking boots, fill up your water bottle, and don't forget a snack! We suggest Granola's Coffee House's Trail Mix- freshly roasted cashews, almonds, pumpkin and sunflower seeds with juicy dried cranberries or our house-smoked Longbranch Beef Jerky to give you that protein boost!

Stop in and grab a coffee to-go before hitting some of our favorite trails!

here are a couple of our favorites:

Montara Mountain

One of our favorite things about this is the ability to modify it and still have a great view. Whether you start walking through rolling hills passing a quaint horse (and donkey) ranch, or starting right off of Hwy 1 with an almost immediate lookout over the roaring Pacific and Devil's Slide, the views are outstanding. We like to take the trail to the bench lookout and enjoy our Longbranch Beef Jerky and Granola's Coffee House Trail mix with a panoramic view of the coast---you may even spot whales! Higgins Purisima Creek

Follow the sounds of the trickling creek while gazing up at some of the oldest trees in the world. This magical hike amongst redwood giants is full of excitement! Whether you follow the trail next to the creek to count how many banana slugs you can find or take the trail up, above the tree line for a real workout and a far off view of the ocean! You may need to power up with one of Granola's Coffee House's Fresh Fruit Smoothies with extra hemp protein before heading out on this one! Here is the link to the trailhead
